My name is Elle York, and I’m a monster hunter. No, really. Stop giving me that look. I know that look. I get it a lot. If it makes you feel better, pretend that this is entirely fictional, and I’m just a professor in the NYU Fine Arts department and that this experiment is officially sanctioned. Actually, the exploration of some of this country’s most haunted places and creepiest urban legends is the official cover story. What actually happens when I get there, well, you decide what’s real and what’s not.
Monsters are everywhere. If you’re a glass-half-empty kind of person, which I most decidedly am not, then the fact that there are creeping crawlies hiding under practically every sewer cover and in every closet could be terrifying or at least disconcerting. But to me, it’s a perfect opportunity to explore the unnatural world. Can you say ‘road trip?’
Come along with me on the journey of a lifetime. Well, to be honest, it’s more the journey of several long weekends strung together all willy-nilly. It’s my goal to explore, investigate, catalogue, and sometimes debunk the shadowiest corners of America and post my findings here.
